NICKELODEON UK & IRELAND APPOINTS JAMES NEWTON
AS VP, PROGRAMMING 

London, 14th April, 2016 – Nickelodeon UK & Ireland has announced that James Newton will join the kids’ entertainment brand as Vice President, Programming. Newton will be responsible for developing the scheduling and editorial strategy of the network across its seven specialty channels as well as Nickelodeon’s on demand and digital platforms. Reporting to General Manager of Nickelodeon UK & Ireland, Alison Bakunowich, Newton will begin his new position on Monday, 18th April.

Most recently serving as UK Director of Programming at NBC Universal, James Newton has worked in the broadcast industry for 20 years. Gaining experience across a variety of channel genres, Newton’s career has seen him work with television brands including Disney Channel, UKTV, E!, Syfy, Universal Channel and Comedy Central. Newton joins Nickelodeon UK & Ireland as the network enjoys unrivaled ratings success in the UK with six consecutive months ranked as the top kids’ network.*
