Alison Bakunowich

General Manager Nickelodeon UK and Ireland

Alison Bakunowich is the General Manager of Nickelodeon UK & Ireland. Reporting directly to the Board of Nickelodeon, Alison is responsible for the Nickelodeon business within the UK and Ireland. Driving ratings and revenues across the Nickelodeon brands including seven television channels, the network’s multiplatform and consumer products offering, Alison oversees the linear planning, scheduling and media planning of the Nickelodeon UK network. Alison works with the International Programming team on local programme acquisitions and commissions and supervises programme commissions and acquisitions for Channel 5’s popular Milkshake strand. Alison joined Nickelodeon UK & Ireland in 2011 as Vice President, Creative, Marketing and Communications. Previous to her tenure at Nickelodeon UK and Ireland, Bakunowich served as Marketing and Commercial Partnerships Director for Nickelodeon Australia/New Zealand. Prior to Nickelodeon, she worked at Australia’s John Fairfax Publications. During her seven years with the company she was responsible for the strategic development and brand management of The Sydney Morning Herald, Good Weekend and The Sydney magazine. Bakunowich is a recipient of the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers' Association, Newspaper Marketer of the Year Award and in 2007 was part of the committee that founded Earth Hour.

John Conlon

VP Director of Research UK Cluster

John Conlon is Viacom International Media Networks VP Director of Research, UK, Australia & Eastern Europe. Overseeing all research activity within the UK, Australia & Eastern Europe for VIMN brands including Nickelodeon, MTV and Comedy Central John’s focus is to guide and support the development of VIMN’s business units through the provision of audience intelligence, analysis and insight. Prior to this, John was Senior Director of Research for Nickelodeon UK where he oversaw numerous research initiatives including brand positioning studies, consumer product studies and audience investigations. He spearheaded the launch of the Nickelodeon Kids and Family Panel and developed the 2012 Research Road Show, a multi-media trade presentation developed for Nickelodeon’s commercial partners and based on research executed within the UK and at an international level. John has also presented Nickelodeon research findings at events including the MRS Kids & Youth Conference and the Marketing Week Kids Conference. Before joining Nickelodeon, John was a member of the team that launched the UK TV channels; a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Virgin Media. John began his career in market research at BMRB after graduating from King’s College London with a degree in Physics with Management.

Nina Hahn

Senior Vice President, International Production & Development For Nickelodeon

As Senior Vice President, International Production & Development, Nina Hahn oversees international content development and co-production partnerships for Nickelodeon outside of the US. Based in London, Hahn coordinates and drives the development process, spearheading new production models, managing productions from pilot through to series, and working in direct partnership with Nickelodeon’s content teams around the world. As part of this role, Hahn is responsible for internationally sourced productions, aligning Nickelodeon’s global production and development pipeline, representing Nickelodeon US’s production and development interests abroad and identifying resources and expertise to drive creative partnerships and cultivate talent. As the main international production and development conduit for Nickelodeon’s channels, Hahn also ensures the cultural relevancy of all Nickelodeon production and development for global broadcast. Hahn also works in direct partnership with Nickelodeon in the UK to source content from UK independent producers for potential global production and development. Hahn is an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in creating and producing content for kids. Since joining Nickelodeon in 2005, Hahn has been the driving force behind establishing the brand as a core international hub for creators and talent. Hahn oversees the production and development of Nickelodeon’s hit series, House of Anubis which is now entering its third season on Nick’s channels around the world. Prior to joining Nickelodeon, Hahn worked as an independent producer and development consultant for some of the world’s leading kids content producers and broadcasters in New York, including HBO and Jim Henson Productions.

Mark Kingston

General Manager and Senior Vice President Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products Europe, Middle East, Africa & Australia

Mark Kingston is General Manager and Senior Vice President for Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) in Europe, Middle East, Africa & Australia, overseeing Viacom International Media Network’s (VIMN) consumer products operations in these key markets. Kingston is based in London and reports to Ron Johnson, Executive Vice President, Consumer Products, VIMN and Dave Lynn, Managing Director & Executive Vice President, UK, Australia & Eastern Europe & International Content Distribution. Since 2011, Kingston has been responsible for licensing programs in the UK, Australia, Israel and parts of Eastern Europe as well as NVCP’s Pan-European retail strategy working in close collaboration with local VIMN channel operations and category heads. In 2013, Kingston’s role expanded to include oversight of VIMN consumer products in all of Europe as well as the Middle East and Africa to more deeply align consumer products teams in order to drive greater efficiencies, and value for local, pan-regional and global partners. As Vice President, UK, Australia, Russia, Israel, Central & Eastern Europe Retail Sales and Trade Marketing, for NVCP, Kingston and his team achieved double-digit growth in overall consumer products through more focused licensing partnerships and development of key account relationships. Recently, Kingston and his team coordinated the UK and Australia consumer products launch of Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which is already achieving key milestones in both markets such as hitting the top five in the action figure category. Kingston joined NVCP in 2011 from The Walt Disney Company, where he served as Business Unit Director, responsible for all aspects of the licensed and vertical business at UK supermarket chain, Tesco while managing a team of 15 sales, marketing, retail planning & product development professionals. Prior to The Walt Disney Company, Kingston worked at BBC Worldwide, and began his career at Masterfoods, a division of Mars UK. Kingston graduated from the University of Leeds with a BSc Hons degree in Animal Science.

Di Maxfield - Twine

VP, Human Resources, UK Cluster, Viacom International

Di oversees all aspects of human resources at Nickelodeon and Comedy Central in the UK as well as Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and MTV in Russia and Hungary. She is also responsible for child welfare within Nickelodeon UK. Maintaining the continuous development and implementation of Nickelodeon and Comedy Central’s culture and brand values, Di’s efforts are integral for delivering the company’s people strategy; essential in the achievement of Nickelodeon’s and Comedy Central’s business objectives. During her time at Nickelodeon, Di has introduced and developed bespoke management training to foster a high performing work culture. Most recently, Di has spearheaded Kids Connection at Nickelodeon, an HR initiative designed to fully demonstrate Nickelodeon’s position of ‘Kids First’ through activities such as an induction video showing Kids running the office and incorporating questions posed by children as part of the recruitment process. For Comedy Central Di provides senior-level support to the brand’s Managing Director. She has supported the Comedy Central business through a change and expansion in remit. Di has also created a best practice HR culture at Comedy Central. Previously Di has held roles as Head of HR for The Carbon Trust, Senior HR Advisor for Tate Britain/Modern Galleries and HR Business Partner for Ford/Visteon UK Ltd. Di is a Chartered Fellow member of the CIPD qualified and is trained in psychometrics and organisational design. She studied Economics and Geography at the University of Portsmouth.
